Encore inspires and delights at the 2024 Hyatt MICE Forum: Pioneering innovation in event technology, production and sustainability

 

 

Encore was a prominent presence at the 2024 Hyatt MICE Customer Advisory Forum held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul from 27-29 August. The event, which brought together industry leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region, provided a platform for discussing the future of events and exploring cutting-edge trends in event technology, sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).

Encore’s Katherine Pfahl, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, APAC and Michael Magafa, Commercial Director for APAC, delivered an insightful presentation on the evolving and future landscape of event technologies. They highlighted key trends such as immersive experiences, personalisation, and the amazing capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR) in creating unforgettable events; illustrating the many ways Encore uses technology to drive stronger audience engagement.

“Technology is no longer just about AV; it’s about how we apply it to create meaningful connections. Immersive experiences, personalisation, and the integration of AI and XR are redefining how we engage audiences and deliver ROI for event organisers,” said Michael.

Katherine continued the presentation focusing on the critical role of sustainability in the future of events. She addressed the pressing need for the event industry to adopt sustainable practices, not just as an optional inclusion, but as a fundamental approach to event planning. She outlined how Encore is leading the charge in this area by implementing energy-efficient technologies, utilising LED technologies and digital platforms like Encore’s Chime Live for eco-friendly event materials and integrating sustainable design elements into event production.

A special highlight of her presentation was a heartfelt appearance by her daughter, Piper who passionately articulated her concerns about sustainability. She eloquently highlighted the alarming amount of plastic in the world’s oceans, bringing a personal and poignant touch to the discussion. This moment underscored the importance of sustainable practices, not just as an optional inclusion, but as a fundamental approach to event planning.
